Righto! Let’s review Kung Fu Panda 2, today, shall we? As the summer progresses, it is likely that movie reviews will become more of a staple here, since there will be many more movies that we are potentially interested in. Don’t get me wrong, I intend to remain biased and picky with my selection, but there will simply be more overall to look at.
So, let’s have a look at the sequel to the 2008 hit that took us all by suprise. The first one was a delightfully zany enterprise that was both imaginative and wholesome and original and funny.
How does Kung Fu Panda 2 hold up?
All in all, Kung Fu Panda 2 was pretty good. A worthy sequel. There were some aspect that feel flat, but you can’t expect perfection all of the time. The movie was silly and energetic and fun, which is something that not every movie can accomplish.
It’s not gonna win an Oscar, but I had fun and I laughed. It’s perfectly lovable and silly, and maybe we need more of that in a culture permeated with gritty depressing TV and movies and cultural attitudes in general.
It’s nice to see a project that has attracted such big name talent in the effort to make a fun kids movie, which adults can enjoy as well. Bottom line? I recommend it wholeheartedly.
