This coming week for new movies looks absolutely horrible. It’s the same old crap we’re used to seeing:
SAW is on it’s 6th installment, we’ve got a crappy animated film, typical love stories, stupid action movies, and raunchy, perverted parody films – among others. Tread wisely my friends; you may want to save your money this week.
Still dying to know what’s coming out? I thought so. Click on to view the new movies opening Friday October 23, 2009.
In SAW VI, Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw’s legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw’s grand scheme is finally understood. (Rated: R) Watch the SAW VI movie trailer here.
Hilary Swank and Richard Gere star in director Mira Nair’s tracing the life of famed aviator Amelia Earhart. You know the story. My only question is why is Richard Gere still acting? (Rated: PG) Watch the Amelia movie trailer here.
Astro Boy is based on an anime story by Osamu Tezuka’s. A young robot with incredible powers, super strength, and the purest spirit on the planet discovers the joys of being human while embarking on a worldwide journey to discover his true potential. Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant
Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant tells the story of a small-town teen who inadvertently shatters a 200-year-old truce between warring factions of vampires. Seriously? Another vampire movie? Gag me. At least this one seems to have elements of comedy intertwined within the film. (Rated: PG-13) Watch the Cirque du Freak movie trailer here.
Motherhood follows a hapless mother of two as she attempts to prepare for her daughter’s rapidly approaching sixth birthday party. Along the way, the harried mother is forced to contend with a monumental series of unexpected urban challenges. (Rated: PG-13) Watch the Motherhood movie trailer here.
Ong Bak 2
Did anyone even know there was a Ong Bak 1? Regardless, the newest film apparently has no connection to the first film. In Ong Bak 2, Muay Thai martial arts master Tony Jaa returns to deliver a bone-breaking barrage of knees and elbows in this action opus that finds the star not only delivering blows in front of the camera, but calling the shots behind it as well. (Rated: R) You can check out the trailer at youtube if you want.
In Untitled, a beautiful young woman, Madeleine runs an upscale art gallery in New York City who prides herself on exhibiting the most daring and cutting-edge work on the East Coast. Her dirty little secret is that she’s able to keep the place open by selling the bland but accessible work of her boyfriend. However, when Madeleine becomes involved with her boyfriends brother, she must make a difficult decision. Bla bla bla. (Rated: R) Watch the Untitled movie trailer here.
Stan Helsing: A Parody
It’s Halloween night, and slacker video clerk Stan Helsing – along with his insanely sexy ex-girlfriend, best buddy and an exotic dancer/‘massage therapist’ – detours into a town cursed by the biggest monsters in movie history. When Stan discovers that he’s a direct descendant of the legendary monster hunter Van Helsing, the four will have to survive a night of movie monster attacks. I wouldn’t waste a single mite on this film. (Rated: R) Watch the Stan Helsing trailer here.
