Weekend Box Office ResultsHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 shattered a number of records this weekend accounting for two thirds of movie sales. It became the highest grossing opening weekend ever at $168.550 million surpassing The Dark Knights $158.4 million. Potter also broke the mid-night release record, opening day record, and opening weekend IMAX record. Winnie the Pooh also opened this weekend at a less than projected $8 million and Transformers: Dark of the Moon became the first movie of 2011 to surpass the $300 million mark.
