So a couple years back, my sister got me hooked on the television show Lost. When I started, I never thought that it would turn into a show that has black smoke, temples, and a lot of murder. I have heard a ton of rumors from friends and family about anything and everything. So to make everyone’s life a little bit more interesting I’m compiling a list of rumors and spoilers about the show Lost. Enjoy:
- Jacob and the guy possessing John Locke are Egyptian gods.
- Charlie and Claire grow close again in this alternate universe thing.
- Locke may end up not being able to walk again on the island.
- More Polar Bears to come.
- Nadia comes back.
- Hurley will see how that massive statue was destroyed.
- Sayid kills fake Locke later on.
- The numbers next to the “candidates” names is the order of their deaths.

We all know there is plenty of ski jumping and hockey going on up at the Canada Olympics right now. If you are anything like most of the people I know, your t.v. hasn’t been turned off in the past week or so and all spare time is dedicated to seeing who wins the next gold. There are those times, however, when you’re in the Olympic spirit and the only sport on is boring, like … curling. The story, told in flashback, of two young British sprinters competing for fame in the 1924 Olympics. Eric, a devout Scottish missionary runs because he knows it must please God. Harold, the son of a newly rich Jew runs to prove his place in Cambridge society. In a warmup 100 meter race, Eric defeats Harold, who hires a pro trainer to prepare him. Eric, whose qualifying heat is scheduled for a Sunday, refuses to run despite pressure from the Olympic committee. A compromise is reached when a nobleman allows Eric to compete in his 400 meter slot. Eric and Harold race in their respective races and go on to achieve fame as missionary and businessman/athletic advocate, respectively.

Irving “Irv” Blitzer is an American bobsled double gold medalist at the 1968 Winter Olympics, who finished first in two events again in 1972 but was disqualified for cheating and retired in disgrace to Jamaica, where he leads a destitute life as a bookie. He is approached by top 100m runner Derice Bannock, who failed to qualify for the 1988 Summer Olympics when another opponent, Junior Bevil, tripped at the trials, and pushcart driving champion Sanka Coffie, who both wish to use his previous experience as a coach in order to compete in the 1988 Winter Olympics as bobsledders. Irv had been good friends with Derice’s father, Ben, a former sprinter whom Irv had tried to recruit for the bobsled team years ago. Yul Brenner, another runner who was tripped at the qualifier by Junior, also joins the team. After Irv is convinced to coach the team, the three months of practice begins, initially resulting in embarrassment. However, the four men acclimate to the sport and travel to Calgary and the Olympics. |

Michael Jackson’s This Is It is a movie for everyone that is in the mood for a good uplifting movie. District 9 is for anyone who wants to see a lot of people getting blown up. Both are great choices for your time this weekend. |

If you can’t even make it to a local rental place or redbox, but have streaming Netflix at home via computer or xbox, then here are a couple of winners for your night.
First Choice: Super Size Me
Close Second: Gattaca
The real challenge is to go to McDonald’s and buy everything super sized and then eat it as you’re watching the movie “super size me”. I wonder how long it’ll take before you throw that food away and decide to go to the gym. Gattaca is a classic movie that is exciting for everyone who likes action, drama, and a tad science fiction. |
| Enjoy the weekend and please don’t watch any crappy movies, unless your significant other makes you. If that is the case, then watch them and try not to cry.
