| The weekend has finally came around and I’m sure you’re ready for it. Here is where we post our recommendations for anyone and everyone interested in watching a movie, on any medium. We hope you enjoy and take our advice. |
If you want to get out and actually spend money in our current economy, here are the top two movies that everyone should enjoy if you haven’t seen them already.
First Choice: How to Train Your Dragon (3d)
Close Second: Percy Jackson and the really long title
I removed Alice in Wonderland from the list this week, because I honestly wasn’t that impressed with the movie. If you haven’t had time to go see How to Train Your Dragon make sure to do that this week or as soon as possible. The show has incredible graphics and the storyline is unique enough to keep you entertained. |
If you’re too lazy and don’t feel like going to the theater, then here are our two suggestions for you to pick up at your local unnamed movie-disposal box that may or may not be the color red.
First Choice: Where the Wild Things Are
Close Second: Fast and the Furious
Where the Wild Things Are is based on a children’s novel that pretty much everyone in the country has read at some point or another in their life. The book was amazing and the movie lives up to that standard. I have seen all the Fast and the Furious movies and found this fourth installment to be one of the best ones. Most of us are trying to forget about number 3 and consider the trilogy complete with number 4. |
Netflix:
If you can’t even make it to a local rental place or redbox, but have streaming Netflix at home via computer or xbox, then here are a couple of winners for your night.
First Choice: Shawshank Redemption
Close Second: War Games
Shawshank Redemption is actually the best movie ever made and has held the number 1 spot on my personal list for quite some time. The acting is incredible, the storyline captivating, and the ending is surprising. War Games is older and pretty outdated for a kid-hacker movie, but I actually really enjoyed watching this movie. It was interesting to see what they portrayed as a possible end of the world situation and how it could be avoided. |
| Enjoy your weekend and don’t do anything stupid, like alphabetizing your movie collection by director.
Let us know in the comments section if you plan on or did watch any of these films. Also, any ideas for weekend movie/tv activities are welcome as well. |

If you want to get out and actually spend money in our current economy, here are the top two movies that everyone should enjoy if you haven’t seen them already.
First Choice: How to Train Your Dragon (3d)
Close Second: Alice in Wonderland
Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I have already seen How to Train Your Dragon at an early screening and the movie rocks. This movie is fit for kids and adults without being boring. You really feel the viking culture that the creators portray. Alice in Wonderland wasn’t my favorite movie, but it was worth seeing, especially if you like Johnny Depp. |
If you’re too lazy and don’t feel like going to the theater, then here are our two suggestions for you to pick up at your local unnamed movie-disposal box that may or may not be the color red.
First Choice: Twilight
Close Second: Julie & Julia
So I have to explain the first choice before you think I’m crazy. I think that everyone should go and make fun of the movie Twilight this weekend, because I’m betting you have some random free Redbox code lying around or can look one up online. Why not take this opportunity to make fun of Twilight with your friends and not have to pay to do it? That is why Twilight has received my number one spot for this weekend. Oh and if you actually like the movie, well, that’s nice… Julie & Julia can get slow at parts, but if you want to feel hungry by the end of the movie, this one is for you. |
Netflix:
If you can’t even make it to a local rental place or redbox, but have streaming Netflix at home via computer or xbox, then here are a couple of winners for your night.
First Choice: Angels and Demons
Close Second: Signs
I actually found out that Angels and Demons was on streaming Netflix a couple nights ago and have already watched it again. It’s a great show based on the hit Dan Brown book and is ten times better than Da Vinci Code. Signs is a not-so-scary horror’ish’ film about crop circles and is one of my favorite M Night Shyamalan movies. |
| Have a great weekend and don’t forget that you’re closer Monday every single minute…

First Choice: Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Diary of a Wimpy Kid looks like it could be a decent movie, or at least it has the potential to do so. I saw the preview and think, if done right, this movie could bring back all those terrible memories of middle school. Oh and I still think that Percy Jackson and the really long title is a great movie, but don’t take my word for it… |

First Choice: Precious
Close Second: The Hurt Locker
Precious looks like a great movie to make you feel terrible about life, but was recommended by our friends over at the Academy, so it must have some redeeming value. The same goes for Hurt Locker, except for the whole story line thing. |
Netflix:
If you can’t even make it to a local rental place or redbox, but have streaming Netflix at home via computer or xbox, then here are a couple of winners for your night.
First Choice: The Rock
Close Second: Vertigo
The Rock is an older, but awesomer, action film, that I have enjoyed watching over and over throughout the years. This Nicholas Cage movie actually has a plot and doesn’t involve him acting soooo much like Nicolas Cage. Vertigo is an oldy but a goody and is worth the two hours. |
