The Ides of March gives an insightful and intriguing view into the life of a politician and his assistants while running for office. The film delves into the struggle that ensues when a candidate has to survive through the primaries to hopefully make it to voting day, where he will hopefully be elected.
The main character is the press secretary, Ryan Gosling, who has to lie throughout the entire film to be sure that his candidate look good to the press.
